Leather jackets and I just don’t seem to mix very well. However, in the past year I have been contemplating on buying one just because the variations or choices, I should say, are pretty enticing. Besides, leather jackets work well in San Francisco throughout the entire year and especially (at the rate we are going with the weather) this year.
By the way, leather jackets are great mother’s day gifts as well for the trendy woman who enjoys dressing up a pair of designer jeans or complementing a pair of khakis.
I do love neutrals and as we all know it can surely be a staple to most any outfit you put together or not, depending on your taste and what the fashion industry dictates.
But, I am one, who, although appreciates fashion and trends, I do always go with the sure and safe thing for me. However once in a while I also appreciate some things that may not look good on me. So, I have included a collection of pieces which I love and some will certainly wear this Spring to Summer.

Mother’s Day celebration is a a touchy subject for me because, I don’t believe in celebrating such an important person in everyone’s life for just one day, that is something you do for birthdays. Mothers need to be appreciated and celebrated throughout the year in so many different ways.
But, since we are programmed to take note of our Mothers with a gift and a brunch, otherwise we wouldn’t fit in, than I say make the gift spactacular and the brunch outside the home to make it all worth while.
So, for the next three weeks, I will offer you my suggestions piece by piece, so you can have an array of choices and options to consider while shopping for the Mother/Wife person in your life.
First hand, If she is a Ralph Lauren type of woman, then I have detailed below my choice of gifts for her from the designer with varying price range. If you prefer to shop online, then click here and follow the arrows to your shopping cart.
A woman who I have admired for a long time now, is of course a French fashion icon, Ines de la Fressange. I am not going to detail her bio on this blog entry, but will happily give you a link here so that you can use it to get some background about her.
The interesting thing is that, she became well known around the fashion world as a result of her connection to Chanel throughout most of her 20s. Anyway, she had written a book a while back titled, Parisian Chic, which I have picked up and read from cover to cover, just so I can truly understand Parisian women, their style, even more so than I already do, in order to satisfy my obsession with the French lifestyle, culture, and fashion.
Of course the book validates the fact my core makeup and way of thinking and living is French and I am very happy about that. The transition to living in France someday soon will be very easy for me.
So, check out the video here for a brief narrative of her book. Meanwhile here is the link if you are interested in buying or uploading her book.

As most of us Americans are programmed to finish preparing our income taxes, to turn them in by midnight the 15th of April, every year, I bet most of us don’t realize that this year we have until the 18th of April to complete them due to some observed holiday technicalities in one of our states.
Either way, the rest of the world could care less and lives their lives as if it was just another day. So for the folk outside of the states and my much appreciated readers, I have put some outfits together which I, for some reason, have incorporated into my Spring to Summer 2011 wardrobe. Hope you like.
Have a Great Weekend Everyone!!!
The search has begun for Summer shoes and I must say there are a few I am considering to add to my collection, even though all I really need is a pair of flats and maybe some pumps for the summer.
But of course, although I knew what I wanted, (The Salvadore Ferragamo Fademy Pumps and the Jimmy ChooWhirl Flats) I tried on the ones below just for the fun of it and fell in love with all of them. They are now on my wish list. Let me know what you think?
I love casual days at work or the chance where I can actually go out on a Friday night wearing a pair of jeans. However, finding the right jacket to wear with the jeans when opting for a more casual look is often times difficult for the woman over 40.
The idea is not to wear something too dressy and yet not too casual or sporty. Also, often times the jackets suggested are too youthful as well and the best or only choices for the over 40 crowd are waste length leather jackets.
So for this particular struggle, I have searched high and low and have come up with a few affordable jackets to consider for pairing with a nice pair of jeans. Let me know what you think?
The blazers or jackets below can be found here
Spring to Summer and early fall, most of us are invited to bridal showers, Mother’s Day Luncheons, graduations, weddings, baptisms, bar/bat mizvahs and more and finding just the right dress for the occassion can be challenging.
I am not much of a long gown fan, when it comes to dressing up, but give me colors and Spring/Summer wear and I am right on it. Now, I know I have stated before that I am not a fan of one specific designer when it comes to fashion, but I am a fan of the best choices presented to us by EVERY designer out there.
Caroline Herrera is no exception to that rule and when it comes to women over 40 friendly fashion, she is one to count on for sure. Here are my favorites from her Spring 2011 collection. What do you think?
As I said before, women over 40 should stay away from mini skirts no matter how sexy their legs are and opt for pencil skirts instead to bring out their sex appeal. Believe me when I say this, a pencil skirt, with an appropriate blouse or top, can be the staple for most any outfit, from business attire to a semi formal evening get together and I am glad to see a large selection of them here to choose from.
Here are some of my favorite suggestions:
