There are fashion trends and wardrobe suggestions, which I, being a woman over 40, wish I could wear and while I second guess myself about whether the pieces are age appropriate, I do, on occasion, give into the temptation. I mean why not, if it looks good, wear it. Here’s my latest loves from Free People and yes ladies, they are age appropriate:
FP High Rise Skinny, Quilted Leather Jacket, Tristo Leather Tote, Solitaire Heel, We The Free Ragtime Raglan-top
While I strolled through Bloomingdales in San Francisco during my lunch hour to check out the Spring/Summer handbag collection, I have to admit I was drawn to the Kate Spade “wall of fame”display of colorful handbags on the main level of the department store and I must mention, the photos do no justice to the real goodies.
I love wearing jeans and ankle boots and can probably do it several times week. The good thing is, my job allows it, so although I consider my latest pick, mostly weekend wear, I can honestly say, I may very well incorporate it into my weekly work wear.

Why is it so difficult to find a bag, in addition to the purse, to carry lunch and walking shoes while commuting to work? (I know a mouthful)
Well, for some strange reason I have had alot of trouble locating the perfect tote bag to do jus that. I have, over the last 6 months, purchased and returned 12 bags and at this stage, as a result of my frustration, have settled on a simple Eddie Bauer Rippac Everyday tote for 20.00 to do the trick, as well as hold me over, until I can find the best tote bag to carry my necessaties every day to and from work.
I am not picky, it’s just most bags are not designed properly to hold everything in place or if the compartment is designed correctly, the handles are not, if that is just fine, then securing the bag isn’t designed to detour theft while commuting on a crowded train.
So, I suppose I either need to design the perfect bag myself or hire someone to create the perfect bag based on my specifications. Any takers?
I do love neutrals and as we all know it can surely be a staple to most any outfit you put together or not, depending on your taste and what the fashion industry dictates.
But, I am one, who, although appreciates fashion and trends, I do always go with the sure and safe thing for me. However once in a while I also appreciate some things that may not look good on me. So, I have included a collection of pieces which I love and some will certainly wear this Spring to Summer.

A woman who I have admired for a long time now, is of course a French fashion icon, Ines de la Fressange. I am not going to detail her bio on this blog entry, but will happily give you a link here so that you can use it to get some background about her.
The interesting thing is that, she became well known around the fashion world as a result of her connection to Chanel throughout most of her 20s. Anyway, she had written a book a while back titled, Parisian Chic, which I have picked up and read from cover to cover, just so I can truly understand Parisian women, their style, even more so than I already do, in order to satisfy my obsession with the French lifestyle, culture, and fashion.
Of course the book validates the fact my core makeup and way of thinking and living is French and I am very happy about that. The transition to living in France someday soon will be very easy for me.
So, check out the video here for a brief narrative of her book. Meanwhile here is the link if you are interested in buying or uploading her book.

Tiffany & Co has a selection of reversible tote bag with suede on one side and metallic leather on the other available through their website here. They range between $395 to $595 and come in a variation of colors and styles. It’s an interesting concept with one possible downside, in my opinion.
When you flip the bag inside out, you probably will expose the dirty inside of the bag on the outside, either way you flip the bag. Hope I didn’t confuse you with this.
So in order to avoid exposing soiled suede or vice versa as a result of the junk women tend to keep inside their tote bags, I suggest putting “your stuff” inside several large plastic ziploc bags or smaller carry all pouches before placing them inside the tote bag, that way when you want to flip the bag inside out, it hopefully looks clean.
Anyway, tell me what you think of the bag?

One of my weaknesses is handbags, the other are shoes but handbags I tend to shop for every chance I get more so than shoes or maybe equal, can’t keep up anymore. That doesn’t mean I own a hundred of them, I just like shopping for them. But this year, it seems the bags are even more “dreamer” (for lack of a better word) than the years past. Or maybe the color red is enticing me, again I can’t keep up.
Can you sense the excitement in my tone? Anyway, I have included below my top ten picks for Spring/Summer 2011 (believe me there are more but I had to stop somewhere). Let me know what you think?
