bus stop photography

Normally, while I wait for the bus, I stand and look around to keep myself busy. But not this morning, I decided, the images before my eyes were worth capturing on my Iphone 4s.

photography: light effects in san francisco

The past three days, it was extremely hot in San Francisco and although it was a pleasant change from the cold and fog, it aggravated alot of locals.  Very strange bunch, we are, the city folk.

I, on the other hand, did everything in my power to stay out as long as I could to enjoy the sun and the heat, so after work I walked over to Union Square and enjoyed a nice dinner outdoors atop Macy Department Store, over-looking the  square. When I finally made it back down to the street level, I couldn’t believe how amazingly hot it still was even at 8p.m. So, naturally I grabbed  my hubby’s cell  and snapped some photos of the light effects in San Francisco on a hot Indian Summer night.

modern classic fashion photo shoot

I go through many phases while contemplating my life and since “the wedding” last month, I have been in a retro mood, so it’s no surprise that I would fall madly in-love with the below photos, which I found here.

I am not sure who the creative mind behind the photographs is, but based on the style, Grace Coddington, creative director of Vogue most definitely comes to mind. If  anyone can shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it if you would drop me a line or two.

Anyway, love these fashion photos which take me back to an amazing era in fashion.

what a difference 20 years makes

Being a part of the over 40 crowd, I tend to, like others in my league, occasionally analyze whoI am now when I interact with the 20something crowd. Don’t ask, it’s a woman thing.

To sum up where I am going with this, I have included two photos which best showcase what I was  like as a person in my twenties (left) and how I see myself now over 40 (Right).  And to be honest with you, I like me now the best :) What do you think about yourself, do you prefer your twenties or your forties?

architecture design and decor

I  attempted to do some Spring cleaning this weekend but ended up getting distracted by other trivial things. However, once I began winding down Sunday night and searching the web, I came across an array of  interesting architectural design and  decor from here and decided to share some of my favorites as usual.

Where can I get one of these

I would so have a house like this

let them eat cake – a wedding cake that is

While helping a certain bride-to-be choose her wedding cake, I silently wondered why the task would be so difficult. After all, the cake cutting ceremony is usually late in the evening and by that point most guests are either gone or don’t even pay attention to the tradition.

But after doing my research on the significance of the cake cutting tradition here, I realized giving the decoration great thought is a representation of the bride (mostly) and sometimes the groom.

Now, although traditionally round cakes were the norm, I personally prefer the square ones. They somehow make a bolder statement :) .  What say you?

interior affairs

I have to admit, after the emotional roller coaster of a week I had last week, I decided it was time to shift gears and stare at some amazing “adult” home decorating ideas.

My favorites this week come from here, here and here

creative architecture

I always walk the financial district in San Francisco, mostly through the construction zones, just to see the progress of the latest architecture marvel being built throughout the city.

So of course, it’s not a shock that I also appreciate this website and the most amazing art and architecture photography they post on Facebook.

I wouldn't mind one of these in my backyard

art print for mostly apartment living

I cannot get enough of art prints to hang throughout my studio apartment. But I must admit, I am very choosy when it comes to picking the right pieces to, mostly, inspire me.

So, I was happy to have stumbled upon some prints here, which I want to add to my collection.
